Privacy Policy
Tuck is a read-it-later tool that lets you save web pages and read them later in a distraction-free reader.
What Tuck stores, and where
When you save a page, Tuck stores the following locally in your browser
(via chrome.storage.local) so it can show your library and reader:
- The page's URL, title, author, and an estimated reading time
- The article's text/content and (when available) its lead image
- Any tags, favorites, archive status, and highlights you add
- Your appearance settings (theme, accent color, reader text size)
This data never leaves your device. Tuck has no backend and sends none of it to the developer or to any third party.
Network requests
Tuck makes a network request in only one case: when you paste a URL into the “Save a link” box, your browser fetches that page directly from the website you chose, so Tuck can extract a clean copy for reading. This request goes to that website, not to Tuck, and Tuck asks for permission to that specific site first. The extension also loads fonts from Google Fonts to render its interface.
Permissions
- activeTab / scripting — only when you click “Save” or press the shortcut, to read the current page's content for saving.
- storage — to keep your library and settings on your device.
- Host access — requested per-site, only when you save a pasted URL.
Data retention and deletion
Your data lives in your browser's local storage. You can remove individual saves in the app, or remove everything by uninstalling the extension. You can export your saves to CSV at any time from Settings.
